Licensing

SchemaStudio is sold as a one-time purchase with a per-machine license. There are no subscriptions and no recurring fees. Once activated, your license does not expire.

License types

Trial

Every download includes a 30-day free trial with full functionality. No payment information is required. When you launch SchemaStudio during the trial period, a banner shows the number of days remaining.

When the trial expires, the application switches to read-only mode: you can view existing projects and records, but you cannot add new fields, create records, or export. Activating a license immediately restores full access.

Full license

A full license unlocks SchemaStudio permanently on one machine. It covers all current features and minor version updates (for example, 1.0 through 1.x). Major version upgrades (2.0 and above) may require a separate purchase — when that time comes, current license holders will receive a discounted upgrade offer.

Machine binding

Licenses are tied to the Machine ID of the computer you purchase for. The Machine ID is a hardware fingerprint generated by SchemaStudio. It is stable across reinstalls on the same machine but changes if you move to a different computer.

To find your Machine ID:

  1. Open SchemaStudio.
  2. Go to Help → Enter License Key…
  3. Your Machine ID appears at the top of the dialog.
  4. Click Copy to copy it to the clipboard.
Before purchasing: always copy your Machine ID from the computer you intend to license. A license generated for a different Machine ID cannot be activated on your machine.

Activating your license

  1. Open SchemaStudio on the licensed machine.
  2. Go to Help → Enter License Key…
  3. Paste your license key into the input field.
  4. Click Activate. SchemaStudio validates the key and confirms activation.

Activation does not require an internet connection — the key is verified locally against your Machine ID. Keep your key in a safe place such as a password manager or the email you received it in, as you will need it if you reinstall SchemaStudio.

Reinstalling on the same machine

If you reinstall your operating system or SchemaStudio on the same hardware, your Machine ID remains the same. Re-activate using your original license key — no new purchase is needed.

Transferring to a new machine

If you replace your computer and need to transfer your license, email support@leubapps.com with the following:

  • The email address used during purchase
  • Your PayPal order or transaction number
  • The Machine ID of your new computer (found via Help → Enter License Key…)

A replacement key for the new machine is typically issued within one business day. Your original key will stop working once the transfer is complete.

Lost license key

If you lose your license key, email support@leubapps.com with your purchase email address and PayPal order number. We will reissue your key to the same Machine ID on file.

Team and bulk licensing

Volume pricing is available for teams purchasing multiple seats. Email support@leubapps.com with the number of seats required and we will send a quote.

Checking license status

At any time, go to Help → About License… to see:

  • Whether you are on a trial (with days remaining) or fully licensed
  • Your Machine ID
  • The license key currently in use (if activated)
